Creativity Unwrapped at Hatton Show

Come and see our display at Hatton Show on Saturday!  It’s in a field opposite the church and we’ll be in the main marquee.

The theme for Heritage Open Days this year is ‘Creativity Unwrapped’.  We have chosen to celebrate art in the parish of Daresbury.

We knew of paintings in the church and some in private homes.  When the attics of the vicarage were cleared a few years ago, we discovered more paintings, drawings and embroideries.

The embroidered samplers from Morphany Hall were just discovered a few years ago, when they were put up for sale in an auction.

There have been several artists living in the parish over the years and we are pleased to be able to display their work here.

Moore Art Group has been meeting for several years and sometimes uses the buildings and landscapes of the parish as inspiration.

Heatherfield Heritage at Preston Brook Wharf is reviving canal art and collecting artefacts from the time when the canals were thriving waterways.

Members of Moore Camera Club go out and about taking photographs of all manner of things in the parish.
