Some pictures from the early 20th century

These photographs have kindly been shared with us by Terry.  His family, the Duncalf’s, lived and worked in Daresbury, Hatton, Moore, Acton Grange, Sutton Weaver and Aston.

Percy and William Duncalf served in WW1.  Their parents were William and Martha.  Percy’s WW1 Certificate of Honour was presented to him by ‘the Townspeople of Runcorn’.

William and his wife lived at Bay Tree Cottage – this building is typical of those in the area.

Methodism was very popular across the parish.  Percy’s daughter, Sylvia Audrey, attended Sutton Weaver Methodist Church and went to Aston School.
