Fred Lawrinson was born on 18th October 1916 in Runcorn. He was the only child of Ernest Lawrinson who was from Runcorn and Minnie (nee Lawrence) who was also from Runcorn. The father was a grocer’s assistant for the Co-operative Society.
The 1921 Census recorded Fred and his parents as living at 2, Briscoe Street in Runcorn and the father continuing to work for the Co-operative Society.
Fred attended Runcorn Parish School and was recorded at Prize Days from 1928 to 1932 for his perfect attendance and hard work. He received a silver medal with a gold centre for six years perfect attendance in 1931 and was a prize winner in 1932. He also had musical success with learning how to play the piano. After he left school, he continued to play the piano as an accompanist at local concerts and he also played the organ.
By 1939 Fred and his parents had moved to live in Aston Lane in Preston Brook. His father was still working as a grocer’s assistant and Fred was employed as a clerk doing estimates for a printer.
On 21st July 1945 Fred married Daisy Spruce at All Saints’ Church in Daresbury. Daisy also lived in the area. They continued to live in Aston Lane after the war. They would have one son.
Ernest and Minnie Lawrinson passed away in 1961 and 1983 respectively.
Fred was the organist at Daresbury Church (1960) and he was the Parish Clerk for Dutton Parish Council. In the 1960s he was employed as a hospital secretary. The couple had moved to live on Northwich Road in Dutton. In 1993 Fred was on the local War Memorial Committee.
Fred Lawrinson passed away on 27th April 1998 aged 81 years, and Daisy passed away in 2014.
It is not known in which branch of H.M. Forces he served, but he appeared on the Electoral Roll Service Register in 1945 and at Victory Celebrations in Preston Brook in 1946.
